One shot, two shot, three shot, fire in the hole!

Move over glazed doughnuts, cakes and bites, there’s a new player in town and it’s ready to spice up your September.

We love nothing more than taste-testing new foodie collaborations; from the weird to the wonderful and the downright ‘what the?’.  So when we heard Sydney’s favourite handmade doughnut makers, Donut Papi, had something in the works, we were fired-up to try it.

Introducing Fire in the Hole, Donut Papi and Fireball’s mind-blowing whisky-infused collaboration that brings back obscene memories of your last house party that felt like a year ago (quite literally). Inspired by the iconic spicy cinnamon flavour behind Fireball, Donut Papi churned the flavour to be matched with a yeast-raised based doughnut, butterscotch- and whisky-infused glaze and topped with a drizzle of pure Fireball icing.

But of course, in true Donut Papi nature, it doesn’t stop there. The real pièce de résistance is the OTT toping – a mini red cinnamon-crumbed flaming Fireball-doughnut-cake ball spiced with an infusion of nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon, plus Fireball-infused apple chunks and finished with a spiced apple Fireball glaze. All this perched upon your devilish doughnut. Oh, and did we mention each Fire in the Hole is also served with a pipette of straight Fireball whisky? Yep, a little drink to wash it all down.

And just like Fireball’s notorious promise, “[it] tastes like heaven, burns like hell.”

Donut Papi’s co-creator, Kenneth Rodrigueza, says that “The ‘Fire in the Hole’ is here for a good time, not a long time! So, of course, we wanted to have some fun and turn up the heat with a pipette of Fireball to wash down our epic doughnut cake ball.”

Perfect for an adults-only sweet treat, Donut Papi and Fireball’s Fire in the Hole is a limited-edition release that’s available for two weeks only. Launching across stores this Friday 04 September, Sydney’s doughnut and Fireball lovers alike will be able to score Fire in the Hole from Donut Papi, Surly’s in Surry Hills, The Big Easy in Darlinghurst and Hustle & Flow Bar in Redfern for $8.50.
