Australia’s favourite boutique hotel group partners with dessert mastermind for one of the best high teas in Sydney right now.

Forget your typical flower-adorned Royal Doulton teaware, cucumber sandwiches and sweets that are overloaded by dollops of whipped cream. We’ve sharing with you one of the newest and one of the best places to get high tea in Sydney, and it’s not what you’d expect.

When we think of Adriano Zumbo, our sweet tooth filled minds head straight to macaroons, the famous Croquembouche and, of course, Zumbo’s Just Dessert’s and Sugar Rush that took Aussie bakers and dessert lovers by storm.

But, from Saturday 28 May 2022, Adriano Zumbo is bringing his world of imagination, creativity and deliciousness to QT Sydney for a luxurious yet modern high tea experience.

The master pâtissier has partnered with QT Sydney for a new QVB high tea experience that is perfect for Sydneysiders wishing to reinvigorate their tastebuds with Zumbo’s sweet touch. Far from your traditional notion of high tea, QT Sydney hopes to reinvent high tea by embracing an overall quirkiness mixed in with a dash of luxury.

Creating a sweet sanctuary in their lobby, QT Sydney’s high tea experience is perfect for guests of all ages who are searching for an extravagant, luxury lounging affair.

We’re talking a mix of sweet and savoury dishes, a sensational selection of teas, invigorating cocktails and, for those who like to pop-open a bottle or two, a dedicated Champagne menu.

On top of Adriano Zumbo’s most famous creations, the nostalgic lineup is also paired with some new, never-before-tasted delicacies such as Sconez (an unexpected twist on the traditional scone) and our personal favourite, the Just Love Me – a chocolate, raspberry and pistachio piece of perfection.

All adorned and perfectly presented on a custom-made geometric-like tiered cake stand, visitors will also be able to pick from a Champagne Lobster Roll, a Goat Cheese Tart, Caesar Sliders, Smoked Salmon & Caviar and a blissful, pop-in-your-mouth-moment with the Garden Patch.

Adriano Zumbo welcomes the QTea experience by saying, “Not one to do things the traditional way, I wanted to work with QT’s signature quirk and create a high tea that you’d never expect. Forget sensible finger sandwiches or stuffy service, QTea is for guests looking for a sugar rush with a side of theatrics.”

Far from anything traditional, this new high tea experience in Sydney will also be treating guests to some eclectic tunes by in-house DJ Studio Q and a roaming Champagne trolley for any top-ups that they may need.

With a buzzing energy, every detail has been curated in collaboration with both Adriano Zumbo and QT Sydney to provide Sydneysiders with a bespoke and boutique high tea just a touch away from the QVB.

Of course, the creator of culinary curiosities has ensured that his Passionfruit Tart and iconic macarons, Zumbarons, appear on the menu too.
