Bondi, brace yourself – you’re about to be tumbled.

Bondi Feast, the fringe-style winter festival, is back and better than ever with 10 jam-packed nights of 40+ shows and 200+ artists taking the stage in the iconic Bondi Pavilion.

The festival celebrates the best homegrown Aussie talent across theatre, comedy, cabaret and circus, but with so much on show, it’s hard to know which events are a must-see.

However, we’re here to tell you that there’s one that stands out above the rest. Casting Off by A Good Catch is a whole lot of circus, a splash of comedy and three legendary sheilas.

These hilariously unapologetic lasses have returned from an award-winning season at the Edinburgh Fringe and Melbourne Fringe in 2018, and earlier this year graced the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Now, they’re bringing their cross-generational performance to Bondi Feast for five shows only. Be ready to laugh, cry and be utterly entranced by this all-women ensemble that challenges the conventions of circus and stereotypes and subverts expectations.

An important element of the show is how the ages of the performers differ substantially, starting from 30 (Spenser Inwood), to 42 (Sharon Gruenert) and 59 (Debra Batton). All three women tumble, talk, fly and balance precariously – no matter their age. The personal is political, the furious is funny and the acrobatics are downright dangerous. A disarming, hilarious show about living on the edge and talking about it.

So what are you waiting for? Check out A Good Catch at Bondi Feast from Tuesday 9 – Saturday 13 July, 7:00pm. It’s a 60-minute spectacular you’ll want to see again.

If you’d like to know more about the performance or our favourite three sheilas, check out our interview with them earlier this year.
