With the cold weather slowly on the decline, it’s time to get out from in front of the fire and check out all that Perth has to offer this month – and there are plenty of events popping up across the city. From mastering jams and marmalades with Chef Scott Bridger,  sampling one (or, if you’re like us, all) of 200 beers at the Craft Beer Festival, to getting your geek on at Perth’s Science Festival, there is something for everyone, and we’ve got the list right here.

Bib & Tucker’s Truffle, Wine & Cheese Dinner

As part of Scott Bridger’s Winter Food Series, Bib & Tucker will be hosting a four-course dinner with special guest David Coomer of Coomer Truffle Farm, bringing his fresh produce to each dish. Food will be matched with wine from Willow Bridge Wines to compliment the local produce.

Jams, Marmalades + Preserves Workshop

Scott Bridger is offering up his expertise to help you create the greatest preserved goods to share with family and friends. The workshop is one of many in Scott Bridger’s 2017 Larder Series which celebrates May Street Larder’s best food.

19th National Cake Decorating Seminar

The Australian National Cake Decorator’s Association is holding their 19th bi-annual National Seminar where cake decorating workshops and demonstrations from national and international cake artists will be held over three days. A National Cake Competition with the theme ‘Land and Sea’ will also be held which is open to all cake enthusiasts.

Perth Craft Beer Festival

The Perth Craft Beer Festival is back again, boasting 200 beers and ciders from 40 breweries across Western Australia alongside a music lineup of Kevin Parker and Daryl Braithwaite over three days.

Sweetwater Rooftop Bar’s Winter Wine Fair

The Winter Wine Fair will be a perfect mid-week pick-me-up, with selections of over 30 wines and Sweetwater’s head chef Leigh Powers providing roaming food to compliment some fantastic Australian wines.

Richard Bell’s Scratch An Aussie

Richard Bell’s unmissable short film Scratch an Aussie is coming to Art Gallery WA’s Screen Space. The work explores racism in Australia with Richard Bell playing a psychiatrist who weaves  a comedic dialogue, unearthing everyday racism towards indigenous Australians.

Winter Pop Up Maker & Designer Market

The Maker & Designer Market is being held by The Ladybird Market once again, displaying an array of stunning locally made and designed artworks, decor, jewellery, clothing, accessories and so much more. The market will be the last one for a few months, so make sure you get down to it.

Perth Science Festival

This all ages event will keep the whole family entertained with over 40 interactive displays and stalls, live shows and native animals. The Science Festival covers all branches of science from astronomy, archaeology, technology and health.
