There’s hot cross buns and then there’s the tastiest Easter dessert treat for 2024: the Hot Cross Bun Cannoli.

Buon Pasqua! Tucked along Pitt Street in Haymarket is a striking boutique hotel that opened up its doors in June 2023. Amongst the striking Italian renaissance decor and 82-bedrooms, Hotel Morris nestled in their very own art deco inspired wine bar and restaurant, Bar Morris.

Focusing on simple seasonal produce that’s infused with Italian influences, Bar Morris is the ultimate sanctuary for an intimate night out.

Ahead of the Easter 2024 long weekend, Bar Morris’ head chef Rosy Scatigna has created a limited-edition Easter dessert treat: a Hot Cross Bun Cannoli.

Encased in the ultra-crunchy classic Sicillian-style cannoli shell is a fluffy filling made from freshly whipper ricotta cream infused with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, orange zest and, hot cross bun staple, raisins. To finish, in true traditional Sicillian style, each cannoli is then drizzled with Modica dark chocolate.

Available to order in-house or takeaway from Bar Morris’ hole-in-the-wall cafe, the Hot Cross Bun Cannoli is exclusively available from Monday 25 March until Sunday 07 April 2024. Priced at $8.50 each.

The perfect balance of sweet, spicy and creamy; we recommend hopping to it Sydney, the Hot Cross Bun Cannoli won’t be around for long!
