Ever thought about what a Gold Coast road trip would taste like? Or maybe a firework?

We haven’t either.

But Darrell Lea, the comeback king of Australian confectionary, is answering our un-asked questions with the delivery of two new superblocks, and we’re bloody excited about it.

Quash your thoughts of a hot highway, sweat and salty fingers buried in chip packets, and redefine your taste of a road trip, with a block that’s jampacked with chunks of honeycomb, pineapple and coconut and be transported to the sunny GC, laden in sunscreen and sand in your toes. The perfect summer escape, better yet, one in a chocolate block.

And for all those thrill-seekers after an all-too-close encounter with a firework, you can have them in your hand, thanks to the Harbour Fireworks block loaded up with caramelised popcorn, popping candy and rice crisps.

Now, these blocks of genius aren’t available until mid-November, however, if you’re a Sydneysider, we’ve got good news for you.

Darrell Lea is hosting a block swap, yes, just like you traded your tazos, knuckleheads or marbles. Chocoholics are encouraged to bring a boring block of regular chocolate (ideally a competitors’ block we assume) down to Westfield Paramatta (opposite IGA Xpress, concourse level 1) to trade in their basic block for a bedazzled Darrell Lea not-even-released-yet chocolate block. They’ll be one of the first in Australia to try the Harbour Fireworks or Gold Coast Road Trip.

Better yet, all of the ‘traded in chocolate‘ will be donated to Oz Harvest, so everyone wins! The Choc’O’Swap will run Friday 25 October from 9:30am – 6:00pm, Saturday 26th October 9:00am – 6:00pm and Sunday 27 October 10:00am – 6:00pm, all while stocks last.
