A summer of waterslide fun!

Summer in Perth usually consists of splashing about in the pool, relaxing at the beach or heading away on a road trip to experience the sublime isolation of one of our coastal, country towns. However, lucky enough for Perth locals and those visiting our city, there is now another option to add to our list of ‘ways to cool down’ in the summer – a six-storey waterslide tower.

This is a public service announcement so that you can prepare yourself for an adrenaline-packed day of sliding down each of the four new waterslides at Perth’s Outback Splash, including Western Australia’s fastest body slide. We suggest starting out on the Gold Rush which is an enclosed slide painted a translucent gold with three notable turns. The slide produces speeds of up to 60km, so you are definitely beginning the day with a rush. The name of the slide pays homage to Western Australia’s mining history. The next waterslide, The Wedgie, has been designed to send thrill-seekers on a near-vertical drop, sending them down at a speed of up to 75km. The name, therefore, seems very fitting! The final two waterslides are raft waterslides, meaning you get to share the fun with a friend or family member. The first, The Wall, includes an 11-metre vertical ascent. The second is the Blackout which takes riders through various dark spots, high speed turns and twists before opening up to a dramatic drop. With all four slides at your fingertips, you are sure to have a whole lot of fun!

Alongside the four slides, Perth’s Outback Splash includes Octopus Bay for the young ones, an inflatable waterslide, a water playground, plenty of shaded areas, a maze, mini golf and animal enclosures. So, after a day of sliding down some exhilarating waterslides, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy and explore. If there is one other thing we can tell you, this is definitely one of the places you need to spend a day at over summer.
