The Newtown brewery and distillery, Young Henrys is releasing a super (and we mean super) limited release of two brand new gin editions.

Today, Monday 07 September, Young Henrys announced the launch of two new editions of its award-winning Noble Cut Australian New World Gin. The two drops, Noble Cut Barrel-Aged Gin and the Noble Cut Newtown Strength Gin, will be available in select bottle shops, the Young Henrys Tasting Bar and their online store for $100 each. Well worth it.

Young Henrys first launched its distillery back in 2014. With the addition of a still crafted for them by an eight-generation moonshiner from Tennessee, the Sydney-based team began to dabble in spirits. Using blending techniques and flavours from both distillation and brewing (they ingeniously use hops), the Young Henrys Noble Cut Gin was born.

Now, the team, led by head distiller Carla Daunton, has produced the two new styles the Noble Cut Barrel Aged Gin and the Noble Cut Newtown Strength Gin in a super limited run of 600 bottles each. The release is limited due to both being only single batches. The aged gin is from a single barrel that’s been ageing in the Young Henrys warehouse for nine months — it could well be your gin baby.

The Noble Cut Barrel Aged Gin showcases a unique expression of quintessential Australian botanicals including lemon myrtle, pepper berry and Tasmanian grown enigma hop flowers. The Noble Cut Barrel Aged Gin spent over nine months in an ex-rye whisky American oak barrel that has imparted a light golden hue and notes of orange, caramel and vanilla.

The second limited-edition, Noble Cut Newtown Strength Gin, is the well balanced, complex and bright spirit punters know and love, imbued with the strength and soul of Newtown. The higher ABV (55% compared to the normal 40%) pushes the sweet and spicy notes of the juniper and the floral tones of the hops in a rich heady aroma. This is a bold, balanced and warming spirit, a love letter to Newtown itself.
