Lights, camera, action! Sydney will be popping bottles harbourside this summer 2021.

Sydney’s summer of 2021 has been an underwhelming one to say the least. Between COVID-19, rainy weather and Christmas and New Year restrictions, we haven’t had much time to sit back and enjoy all that our beautiful city has to offer.

Thankfully, Sydney’s very own harbour waterfront cinema, Westpac OpenAir, is here to help you catch up on the latest film releases. Matched with Australia’s favourite sparkling wine, Croser, and it will be an evening to remember!

Held within Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens and running until Tuesday 23 February, this open air cinema allows Sydneysiders to enjoy all that our city has to offer – entertainment on the big screen, the best in food and drink and, of course, front-row seats to Sydney’s stunning city skyline.

And, just in time for Valentine’s Day, Westpac OpenAir has partnered with Croser to ensure patrons can pop their bottle and enjoy a bite or two before their feature.

Heading into the Croser Garden – which is open from 6:15pm on screening days – guests can relax by the water before their film with table service from the Kitchen by Mike menu ($49pp).

Including your reserved cinema seat, tickets to the Croser Garden ensure that with every meal ordered, patrons will receive a complimentary glass of Croser NV Sparkling to start their evening. Ordering via your smartphone, this means you can spend more time enjoying the sprawling views of Sydney’s skyline one sip at a time.

With scrumptious bites from Kitchen by Mike, guests to the Croser Garden will be able to snack on an array of vibrant, fresh and wholesome eats available including Roasted Free Range Chicken Vinaigrette with green beans and hazelnuts; Ash Baked Eggplant with miso, sesame, edamame and puffed rice; Grilled O’Connor Grass Fed Flank Steak; Heirloom Tomato salad with watermelon, basil and chilli salt; and a Cabbage Apple and Buttermilk Slaw to name a few.

If you’re still feeling peckish before the film, Kitchen by Mike also has a delectable range of sweet treats available including a Tapioca Pudding ($12) with mango and coconut; a Dark Chocolate Mousse ($12) served with white chocolate cream; or, to pair seamlessly with your glass of Croser, a Cheese Hamper ($21) that includes a variety of cheese, chutney and crackers.

With feature films such as Australian drama Penguin Bloom, Dreamland, Pixie, Wonder Woman 1984, Grease and Pulp Fiction premiering, Sydneysiders will be spoilt for choice when it comes to Westpac’s OpenAir cinema.

With reserved and socially distanced seating available for all patrons, Westpac OpenAir also ensures all guests are arriving and departing wearing face masks (as per government regulations) and that cues are minimised in the Croser Garden thanks to their table ordering service and contactless payment.

Of course, if you can’t make it, no need to fret as you can always order in a bottle of Croser sparkling and have one of Australia’s 10 best grazing and charcuterie platters delivered straight to your door. Simply decide on a movie and you’re all set for a date night at home!
