Looking for things to do in Sydney this St Patrick’s Day 2020? You might just be in luck – Irish luck that is.

Whether you’re Irish or not, come Tuesday 17 March and Sydney will be transformed into a green-washed, four-leafed clover extravaganza. That’s right. We’re counting down till St Patrick’s Day and what better way to do so than by sipping, eating and dancing through some of Sydney’s best St Patrick’s Day 2020 events.

Starting the party early, Sydney’s The Mercantile Hotel will be hosting the ultimate seven-day St Patrick’s Day festivities filled with non-stop Irish-filled-fun. Starting on Thursday, there’ll be $15 Bangers & Mash with Shay’s Irish Pork Sausages special; Friday will have live entertainment from 5pm, Saturday and Sunday will be in partnership with the Sydney St Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival, on Monday there’ll be $15 Shamrock Pie all day and live music from 6:30pm, a traditional breakfast on St Patrick’s Day alongside food stalls, pop-up bars and music; and finally, on Wednesday there’ll be a Irish Chicken Curry ($15) and Magners pints ($7) available all day.

Why celebrate one day when you can have an extended long weekend of Irish flags, four leaf clovers and flowing Guinness? Starting on Friday 13 March, The Glenmore in The Rocks will be hosting a five-day St Patrick’s Day extravaganza. With some of the best views in Sydney, this St Patrick’s Day, The Glenmore will be serving $12 pints of Guinness alongside a limited-edition St Patrick’s Day inspired green-coloured Carlton. There’ll be Irish folk music and you’ll be a touch away from the Sydney St Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival that is going to paint the town green this Sunday 15 March.

Starting on Saturday, there’ll be entertainment from 4pm including traditional Irish dancers at 7pm. The night will close with an extravagant fireworks display at 9pm. On Sunday 15 March The Fiddler will have Irish dancers perform at 2pm followed by non-stop entertainment till 6pm. Then, on St Patrick’s Day there’ll be non-stop Irish-filled-fun from 10am – 8pm. Not to forget, there’ll also be an Irish breakfast cooking up from 7am alongside on-tap Guinness beer and Irish coffee to wash it all down. Hosted in and around First Fleet Park in The Rocks, this day-long festivity will begin with a parade which includes a Welcome to Country, Irish dancing displays, Irish singers, Irish language lessons for both children and adults and much more.
