Looking for things to do in Sydney this St Patrick’s Day 2020? You might just be in luck – Irish luck that is.
Whether you’re Irish or not, come Tuesday 17 March and Sydney will be transformed into a green-washed, four-leafed clover extravaganza. That’s right. We’re counting down till St Patrick’s Day and what better way to do so than by sipping, eating and dancing through some of Sydney’s best St Patrick’s Day 2020 events.

The Mercantile Hotel
Starting the party early, Sydney’s The Mercantile Hotel will be hosting the ultimate seven-day St Patrick’s Day festivities filled with non-stop Irish-filled-fun. Starting on Thursday, there’ll be $15 Bangers & Mash with Shay’s Irish Pork Sausages special; Friday will have live entertainment from 5pm, Saturday and Sunday will be in partnership with the Sydney St Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival, on Monday there’ll be $15 Shamrock Pie all day and live music from 6:30pm, a traditional breakfast on St Patrick’s Day alongside food stalls, pop-up bars and music; and finally, on Wednesday there’ll be a Irish Chicken Curry ($15) and Magners pints ($7) available all day.

The Glenmore
Why celebrate one day when you can have an extended long weekend of Irish flags, four leaf clovers and flowing Guinness? Starting on Friday 13 March, The Glenmore in The Rocks will be hosting a five-day St Patrick’s Day extravaganza. With some of the best views in Sydney, this St Patrick’s Day, The Glenmore will be serving $12 pints of Guinness alongside a limited-edition St Patrick’s Day inspired green-coloured Carlton. There’ll be Irish folk music and you’ll be a touch away from the Sydney St Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival that is going to paint the town green this Sunday 15 March.

PJ Gallagher’s EQ
Looking for more weekend-long celebrations? Then head over to Moore Park’s P.J. Gallagher’s for a celebration like no other. Starting on Friday 13 and partying on until Tuesday 17 March, P.J. Gallagher’s will have their renowned Steak and Guinness pie available matched with a pint for only $30. Plus, every day P.J. Gallagher’s will also have a two-hour happy hour from 4pm. There’ll be dancing, music and so much more. Pop into something green as this is one not to miss!

Rag & Famish
Partying on the other side of the bridge this St Patrick’s Day 2020? Then be sure to include Rag & Famish in your plans as things are about to get lucky. On Friday 13 and Tuesday 17 March Rag & Famish will have live bands from 11:30am until 2pm on both days. Plus, to help you put on those dancing shoes, Rag & Famish will be pouring $12 pints of Guinness beer as well as Irish themed cocktail specials. As for bites, Rag & Famish will be serving potato skins with curry sauce and a traditional Irish lamb stew with soda bread and herb butter – the perfect St Patrick’s Day festivity all housed in North Sydney’s oldest pub.

The Fiddler
Over three days, Rouse Hill’s The Fiddler will be hosting their biggest party to date: their annual St Patrick’s Day celebration! Starting on Saturday, there’ll be entertainment from 4pm including traditional Irish dancers at 7pm. The night will close with an extravagant fireworks display at 9pm. On Sunday 15 March The Fiddler will have Irish dancers perform at 2pm followed by non-stop entertainment till 6pm. Then, on St Patrick’s Day there’ll be non-stop Irish-filled-fun from 10am – 8pm. Not to forget, there’ll also be an Irish breakfast cooking up from 7am alongside on-tap Guinness beer and Irish coffee to wash it all down. All ages are welcome as there’s even face painting and a playground for the kids.

Sydney St Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival
No St Patrick’s Day is complete without checking out the annual Sydney St Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival. Hosted in and around First Fleet Park in The Rocks, this day-long festivity will begin with a parade which includes a Welcome to Country, Irish dancing displays, Irish singers, Irish language lessons for both children and adults and much more. Plus, as Sydney transforms into night the Sydney Opera House sails will turn green to pay tribute to the day.

O’Donoghues Irish Pub
Can’t make it to the city this year? Not to fret as Emu Plains’ O’Donoghues Irish Pub will be just as fun! Starting from 8am there’ll be an Irish breakfast available which is perfect to wash down with an Irish coffee. To get into true St Patrick’s Day spirit, there’ll be a Guinness pint happy hour from 8am – 10am. Plus, from 11am guests can enjoy the live entertainment from The Flying Seamen, Liam Gray and Irish dancers. And if you thought that the fun stops there, you’re wrong as O’Donoghues will have an easy access Guinness and Kilkenny pop-up bar, traditional Irish food available and even giveaways all day! What better way to celebrate St Patrick’s Day than at one of Sydney’s favourite Irish pubs, P.J. O’Briens. Start your day off with a visit to this Irish hub for a breakfast which includes a pint of Guinness or a glass of house wine all for just $27.50 – the only way to start your day off right. Throughout the day P.J. O’Briens will also have a range of entertainment available for guests including Kelly’s Heroes and Irish Dancers, Cabbage & Richie and Sydney-based Irish singer, Richie Adams who will be closing off St Patrick’s Day 2020 festivities at P.J. Want to shake up your St Patricks Day 2020 festivities? Look no further than The Royal Leichhardt. This St Patricks Day this inner west pub will be serving up a craic-ing lineup of goodies. There’ll be flowing Guinness on tap as well as Irish coffee for those who prefer a sweeter tipple. Plus, did we mention their mouth-watering menu? Think everything from Stuffed Zucchini Flowers ($16), Fish tacos ($14) with a jalapeno and cucumber salsa to pub classics like Chicken Parmi ($15) a range of steaks cooked on the grill.

Looking for the luck of the Irish? Look no further than St Leonards Gilroy’s Hotel who will be painting the town green this St Patrick’s Day 2020. Starting from 10am, this pub is found less than a three-minute walk away from St Leonards Station and will be hosting a day-long festivity. Think, flowing Jameson Irish Whiskey, on-tap Guinness beer, Mushroom Beef and Guinness Pies, Irish tunes all day and a plenty of giveaways for you to win. The best part? Will you be celebrating this St Patricks Day 2020 in Sydney’s Balmain? If so, be sure to pop by The Riverview Hotel for a day full of green-washed Irish fun! This year, The Riverview Hotel will have live music and entertainment from 2pm – perfect for when you’ll be sipping on the Guinness beer that’s available on tap. But it doesn’t stop there. The Wild Rover – think, great whisky, amazing food and an even better space. Found in the heart of Surry Hills, this St Patrick’s Day 2020, this Irish bar will be hosting the ultimate party. From 2pm there’ll be live entertainment to enjoy including Ollie Steele Trio and the Joe Moore Duo to help you dance throughout the night. As for tipples, The Wild Rover will be pouring $5 Guinness beers, $5 Jameson with fresh apple juice and three $15 St Patrick’s Day inspired cocktails including Irish coffee and Jamocillin which is a Jameson, Alisa Bay, lemon, ginger and honey concoction; as well as a Black Barrel Old Fashioned – Jameson Black Barrel, demerara, orange zest and bitters available until 6pm.
