Meet the all male-owned Australian skincare brand made especially for Australian men!
Australia is the hottest and driest continent on earth, so it’s no wonder why Aussie men have been turning to skincare routines in recent years. But, as many of you have already noticed, men’s skincare is just as confusing as women’s skincare! Which is the sole reason why three best mates from high school – Chris, Dougie and Nick – banded together to launch their own male skincare company called Bondi Skin Co.
“As guys approaching our 30s, we began to pay a lot more attention to our skin and how we looked after it,” they said. “We found ourselves constantly using our partner’s products and felt that men had been somewhat neglected when it came to skincare. There were certainly a few male skincare brands that existed, but they didn’t really cater to the simplicity and ease of use that so many men desire – especially when it came to an anti-aging routine.”
“When it comes to skincare, anti-aging products are the top priority for men – so we set out to create a super simple, yet highly effective anti-aging solution, which would help men to achieve younger, more vibrant looking skin.”
Their newly-launched Essential Anti-Aging Serum Kit comes in three bottles, each labelled numerically to simplify the process. And the boys have given us a quick rundown on each:
1. Vitamin C Serum
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps defend against damage caused by environmental aggressors such as UV and pollution. Vitamin C can reduce redness, dark spots and under-eye circles, promoting a healthier overall complexion.
2. Hyaluronic Acid Serum
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring compound in the body that attracts and holds onto moisture in skin cells, promoting overall skin hydration. It is well known for its benefits, such as alleviating dry skin and reducing the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles.
3. Vitamin A (Retinoid) Serum
Retinoids are derivatives of Vitamin A that helps to strengthen collagen production and facilitate skin cell renewal. As well as that, is it known to help reduce the appearance of acne, sun spots and wrinkles, resulting in a more even, smoother skin.
On top of bringing youthfulness back to men’s faces, Bondi Skin Co. also supports two amazing charities – Black Dog Institute and Drought Angels – by sending one dollar from every sale to both of them.
“Mental health is such a pertinent issue for men, particularly because of their unwillingness to speak up and seek help,” they said. “As a men’s skincare brand, we felt that [Black Dog Institute] were an appropriate organisation to support.
“We also chose Drought Angels, because as an Australian brand we felt the need to give back to those Aussies who were doing it tough. We all went to a boarding school and had a lot of close friends from rural Australia and saw firsthand the effect that the drought had on these families.
“Drought Angels are doing amazing things by providing generous amounts of both financial and emotional support for struggling Australian farmers.”
All in all, when it comes to skincare routines, Chris, Dougie and Nick said the ultimate key is consistency, “much like a consistent fitness routine or a healthy diet.”
“It’s important because it will contribute in a positive way to our overall wellbeing and will ultimately help us to feel better about ourselves and the skin that we are in,” they said. “Bondi Skin Co. has helped hundreds of blokes from all across Australia achieve younger, more vibrant looking skin.”
