Kicking off this April 2021, Australian beer lovers will be frothing to know that a Furphy is on the house when you share your best tall tale at the Unearthing the Unbelievable Pub Tour.
Whether you’re keen on a crisp lager, a refreshing ale or sharing a tale, these unique beer events promises to bring the social spark back to pubs across Australia.
Furphy Beer aims to reignite our love for our local pubs and their dedicated publicans by getting the ball rolling and the beers flowing on an evening of banter, brews and book-worthy storytelling.
An open mic night of sorts, each location on the tour will be hosted by a special guest sharing their own favourite furphies and encouraging punters to join in.

Things will kick off in Sydney on Friday 16 April at 7pm at the Woollahra Hotel. Acclaimed Aussie stand-up comedian Matt Okine will be the host for the evening and likely share a few unbelievably funny furphies of his own.
Next, the Unearthing the Unbelievable Pub Tour reaches Adelaide a week later on Friday 23 April, starting from 7pm at the Alma Tavern. Hosted by iconic comedic radio duo Ben and Liam, it’s bound to be a night of laughter and larrikin antics. For anyone unable to attend, you can still crack open a cold one at home and join the livestream.

The legend of the furphy begins with WWI as Aussie troops gather around the Furphy family made watercart to recuperate and share a story or two. Quickly the art of telling an unbelievable, yet true, story had a name: ‘telling a furphy’. Or so the story goes…
Now, six generations on, Adam and Sam Furphy of the original watercart constructing company are keeping their ancestor’s legacy alive.
