From confectionary to limited-edition brews. Darrell Lea makes its mark with beer this Father’s Day 2021.

The legends behind the iconic, Australian made confectionary brand, Darrell Lea, has announced today the arrival of their newest creation. Switching up from their chocolate block collaborations, they’ve partnered with New South Wales based Nomad Brewing Co. for a sweet meets stout creation.

But, of course, in true Darrell Lea fashion, this brew is more than just chocolate infused.

Just in time for Father’s Day celebrations, the team thought that they would set the record straight and unveil the world’s first limited edition liquorice beer. Yes, you read that right, liquorice beer.

Darrell Lea Batch 37 Dark Chocolate Liquorice Stout combines three of every dads favourite things: liquorice, chocolate and beer. A trilogy of flavours, the liquorice beer is rich, creamy and beautifully bitter.

Featuring hints of Darrell Lea’s iconic natural liquorice flavour, the two Sydney based companies decided the iconic collaboration over some Darrell Lea Bullets. Offering up 40,000 kilometres worth of liquorice Darrell Lea produces each year for the limited-edition release, the main motive was clear: to ensure that thousands of Aussie dads would have a memorable Father’s Day.

“Every Father’s Day, our liquorice range, including the iconic Batch 37 and Bullets, are Aussies’ top choice for gifting. Many dads are big fans of our liquorice products, and what better way to say cheers to our dads than combining two of their favourite things?” said Johanna Campbell, general manager, marketing at Darrell Lea.

Brewed in the heart of Brookvale on New South Wales Northern Beaches, the unbeerlivable liquorice stout will be poured just in time for Father’s Day.

Of course, with tiramisu and mint-flavoured beers under their belt, the Darrell Lea collaboration made for the perfect fit for the brewery. “At Nomad, we’re passionate about pushing the limits and discovering new tastes. We’re thrilled to work alongside an iconic Aussie brand to bring to life a craft beer that will excite many liquorice fans.” said Kerrie Abba, Owner of Nomad Brewing Co.

The Limited edition Darrell Lea Batch 37 Dark Chocolate Liquorice Stout sold out within the first 15 minutes of its release. Pre-orders are now open via Nomad’s website. Priced at $45 for a four pack and $99 for a 12 pack, each purchase also comes with a bag of Darrell Lea Batch 37 Liquorice.
