Meet the Cocktail Hunter.

The Cocktail Hunter could be the guy sitting across the room from you, headphones on all day, typing away madly; it’s the barista who makes your daily poison of choice, the woman walking her dog so fast you’re a little confused how her legs do it – the Cocktail Hunter could be any one of these people.

We’re not going to tell you who our Cocktail Hunter is, however we will tell you this. Cocktail Hunter likes three things: great food, finding new places and of course, a mean cocktail.
We thought  it wise to introduce our Cocktail Hunter to one of the best bars in Sydney, Bar Patrón by Rockpool – to see if the two could hit off and explore the world of true-liquid-love.

Without further ado, let us introduce the Cocktail Hunter’s first cocktail – the Horchata Colada ($21), a Mexican twist on the classic Pina Colada. Think smooth and fresh, a summers evening by the water with a few fresh hints of coconut.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 45ml Patrón Coconut Silver
  • 15ml lime juice
  • 35ml pineapple juice
  • 50ml horchata
  • 5ml coconut syrup
  • slice of pineapple

METHOD:

Shake ingredients thoroughly and strain individually into a short glass. Add a handful of large ice cubes. Take your slice of pineapple and wedge it onto the side of the cocktail glass – a snack for before, during and after this mighty fine mix.
