If you’re not already acquainted with The Wine Library in Woollahra, then let us introduce you….

This local favourite is the pièce de résistance of date night, offering a romantic menu of tapas-style snacks, paired with award-winning wines for an intimate and sophisticated take on your average dinner and drinks.

After weeks of home cooking and takeaway, we are well overdue for a night out, and with this Sydney-based bar reopening, what could be more perfect to revive your passion for good food, great wine and your other half?

Seriously, imagine it now: the low buzz of restaurant chatter, the rich smells of exceptional cooking, the smooth feeling of a cold champagne glass in your hand – and, for the first time in weeks, someone else is doing the washing up! Oh baby, we’re ready to fall in love again.

And, if you want to start daydreaming, let us give you a taste of the menu. Spoiler Alert: It’s delicious! We’re talking creamy Vannella Burrata paired with roasted red peppers and warm sourdough ($23); freshly shucked Sydney Rock Oysters ($5 each); crisp-fried Gruyère Croquettes with salsa picante ($14); and a rotating roster of artisanal cheeses and cured meats. And that’s just naming a few.

Plus, you can feel even better about over indulging – not only will you be supporting a local business and the hard-hit hospitality industry, but, The Wine Library source only from local producers, cheesemakers and winemakers – so you can do your bit, while eating a bit.

Now let’s talk about the wine. And there’s no-one better to put your trust into than sommelier Tim Perlstone, who is ready to reopen his eclectic cellar of natural and minimally-handled bottles. Celebrate locals such as Commune of Buttons, Domaine Simha and Luke Lambert along with French vignerons and cult Italian offerings.

Plus, if you like what you taste, all wines by the glass are available for purchase in their bottleshop – so you can make sure to take home the one you love.

Naturally, safety is at the forefront of The Wine Library’s mind, so bookings are essential to adhere to all regulations and advice – but from Monday 01 June, that will mean a total of 40 customers, so no need to worry about an awkward or stilted atmosphere.
