Bib & Tucker
Located at Leighton Beach and right next to the Fremantle Surf Club lies Bib & Tucker, an elegant yet relaxed beachside dining venue. Using seasonal produce for their ever-changing menu, they pride themselves on serving fresh and local ingredients. To accompany their brunch menu of “Bib Classics” you can choose from mimosas, breakfast martinis and bloody marys, which sounds like the perfect way to start your weekend. Co-owned by Eamon Sullivan, former Olympic medalist and winner of Celebrity MasterChef; Eamon has brought his expertise to this Perth restaurant which is now renowned for its high-quality take on modern Australian dining.
With steps leading down to the sand, you can’t get much closer to beachside dining than at Barchetta. With elevated views of one of Perth’s most popular beaches, North Cottesloe Beach, this Perth cafe serves up coffee and breakfast from 6am, which means it’s the perfect destination for an early morning dip and dine. On top of that, Barchetta serves Mediterranean cuisine and breakfast cocktails and, if you’re lucky, you might even get a table on their glass balcony.
The funky décor of this relaxed venue will make you instantly happy, with its open plan seating area dotted with white and pink decorations. Located at Trigg Beach, the stunning views can be paired with their crowd-pleasing meals. And, let’s not forget their brekky bubbles and morning cocktails menu! Think a Cheeky Bellini ($15) with elderflower, prosecco and orange juice; or a Chilli Infused Cachaça Bloody Mary ($18). Island Market is a pretty special spot, one we’re sure you’ll want to show off to your friends and family.
Clancy’s Fish Bar
Clancy’s is a laid-back restaurant on the doorstep of City Beach, serving crowd favourites such as gourmet bagels, granola and breakfast burgers. It is the perfect spot to enjoy a swim before or after a meal – sandy feet are more than welcome! If you come for lunch, you can expect fish and chips and seafood platters, all paired well with local wine and craft beers. It is also a kid-friendly spot, with a playground right next to the cafe.
Canteen Trigg offers casual beachside dining opposite the beautiful Trigg Beach in Perth’s north-west. Apart from their spectacular location, they are known for being one of the first eateries to introduce poke bowls into the Perth scene. This delicious Hawaiian dish comes with fish whether that be salmon or tuna alongside a range of accompaniments such as edamame, brown rice, ginger and wasabi mayo. These bowls are available on their lunch menu from 11am onwards, but if you want to head down to the beach earlier, you’ll find all the best combinations of eggs, mushrooms, Persian feta, cherry tomatoes, sourdough toast and plenty more on their breakfast menu.
While Perth has an abundance of beaches, we can’t forget the beautiful dining experiences along the meandering Swan River. Zephyr Cafe is located right on the waters edge and is adjacent to the grassy John Tonkin Reserve. With their name meaning ‘gentle breeze’, Zephyr embraces this with its wide variety of waterside and park side dining. There are walking paths heading right past the cafe, so it’s a great opportunity to grab your coffee to go and enjoy the trails of the Swan River. Breakfast is served until 11am and Zephyr serves a range of favourites including the eggs on toast varieties we all love (think benedict, florentine and smashed avo).
Truly an oasis by the ocean, this restaurant offers a sophisticated dining experience with delicious meals made from locally sourced ingredients. Their reasonably priced breakfast menu has the potential to change with the seasons, with the fresh flavours of spring currently on show. They are located on Perth’s prized City Beach, only about a 15-minute drive from the CBD. Sit back on the SSEA deck, enjoy the warming weather and indulge in a yummy brunch at this popular seaside venue.
Located on Matilda Bay, Bayside Kitchen offers picturesque views of the Swan River and the city skyline. If you’re strolling alongside the river, this is an ideal place to take a seat and watch the boats cruise past. Open from 7:30am onwards, they are known for their delicious salads, juices, vegan treats and comfort foods. With ever-changing specials, you are sure to be pleased with their exciting menu, which they update regularly on their Facebook.
The inviting deck chairs and bright yellow umbrellas are hard to resist at The Shorehouse. With views over Swanbourne Beach, the outdoor deck is the perfect place to soak up the sunshine on a summer’s morning. There are many breakfast options ranging from waffles, spiced eggs and their specialty, the blue swimmer crab omelette. There’s even a kid’s brekky option for the little ones.
As the name suggests, Hamptons at City Beach is a beautiful and sophisticated venue, just like the famous beachside resort. Featuring a large breakfast menu – with plenty of vegetarian options – includes a range of well-loved brunch favourites such as pancakes, bruschetta and eggs benedict. Although their outdoor area rewards you with breathtaking views, just remember to pack your bathers as you’ll be very tempted to head down to the beach for a dip after breakfast.
