This July 2023, one of Australia’s best steak restaurants is hosting a luxurious dinner event in Melbourne and Perth.
Hosted by Rockpool Bar & Grill, the Rare Breed Steak Tasting Dinner will be held across two nights in July where guests will be treated to an exclusive three-course matched wines dinner with a cocktail and canape on arrival.
Recently making headlines for the Sydney-based Rockpool Bar & Grill ranked as the eighth best steak restaurants in the world and first placed in the Asia Pacific, the Rare Breed Steak Tasting Dinner will be showcasing a series of rare beef breeds that is usually available in limited quantities and supplied exclusively.
With Sydney currently sold out, Melbourne and Perth foodies will be able to book in for an intimate dinner setting on Thursday 27 July 2023 for an evening of wood-fired beef steaks grilled to perfection thanks to Victorian farmer David Blackmore and son Ben.
The event will include a tasting plate of five different cuts of steak including Rhone which has a marble score of 9+; Mishima which is a native Japanese cattle; as well as Rubia Gallega which originates from north-western Spain, with only one herd in Australia.
Aged in-house, throughout the night the Rockpool team will explain each of the unique cuts, flavours and textures. As well as this, guests to the Rare Breed Steak Tasting Dinner will also enjoy a Steak Tartare en Croute, Potato Gratin, two salads and, the iconic Catherine’s Passionfruit Pavlova to finish.
“These dinners are one-of-a-kind experience in Australia. In fact, they are probably the only event in the world where guests can compare such a fine selection of rare beef breeds,” says culinary director Corey Costelloe.
