Soccer: W-League

Women’s soccer in Australia is taking off, and at $10 a ticket, going to a W-League game is a great activity for a day of entertainment. The competition is fierce this year with very little separating the teams at the top of the ladder. Matches are played across the country and the Grand Final is scheduled for the end of March.

Cricket: Big Bash League Final

The Big Bash is coming to an end and it will no doubt be a highly dramatic final on Saturday 8 of February. Expect fireworks, music, big hits and lots of high energy. Whether your favourite team makes it to the final or not, it’s definitely not a game to miss.

Racing: Super Loop Adelaide 500

The Super Loop Adelaide 500 is four days of racing fun held between Thursday 20 – Sunday 23 February. There will be muscle cars, super trucks, Porsche Carreras and more battling it out around the track. Expect plenty of entertainment with live music including Hilltop Hoods, Pete Murray and Sneaky Sound System, as well as kids’ activities and themed bars

Cricket: ICC Women’s T20 World Cup

Kicking off on Friday 21 February, the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will be the biggest women’s sporting event ever held in Australia. 23 matches will be played across the two-week tournament, with matches being held in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. Expect action-packed cricket as the 10 best teams in the world bat and bowl it out. The final is scheduled for Sunday 8 March, International Women’s Day, at the largest cricket ground in the world, the MCG. It will no doubt be an incredible tournament and a great opportunity to support women’s sport.

Racing: Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix

One of Melbourne’s most iconic events starts up again soon. The Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix will run from Thursday 12 – Sunday 15 March and transform Melbourne’s inner city into a high-speed racetrack attracting hundreds of spectators and VIPs. There will be V8 Supercars, historic vehicles and precision aerobatics on show by the Royal Australian Air Force. You can also look forward to stunt shows, food trucks, meet and greets and DJs. There’s lots on offer and something for everyone so it’s definitely worth a visit.

Surfing: Quicksilver and Roxy Pro Gold Coast

Watch some of surfing’s biggest names such as Kelly Slater, Stephanie Gilmore, Joel Parkinson and Matt Wilkinson carve it up at Snapper Rocks in Coolangatta on the Gold Coast. The Quicksilver Pro and Roxy Pro Goldcoast marks the opening of the World Championship Tours, and it always promises some out-of-this-world performances. It starts in April 2020 and is free to go, so why wouldn’t you!?

Soccer: A-League

There’s no atmosphere quite like that of an A-League soccer match. Experience the crowd and the cheering for yourself by heading along to a game and getting involved. Matches are played every week across Australia, with the 2020 Grand Final scheduled for the weekend of Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May.

Surfing: Margaret River Pro

For our Western Australian readers, the Margaret River Pro is a must-visit. Forming part of the World Champion Tour, watch as the world’s top-ranked male and female surfers battle it out on the waves. It’s a free event that runs from Wednesday 22 April to Saturday 02 May and promises not to disappoint. Open to all ages, there’ll also be live music and kids activities to keep everyone entertained.
