Let your tastebuds do the talking with this free downloadable Australian- and New Zealand-inspired culinary cookbook.

The ongoing debate on who did it first and who did it better has finally been put to rest thanks to two trans-Tasman geniuses uniting to release a bespoke recipe book highlighting the best of both worlds.

Considered neighbours from across the ocean, Australia and New Zealand have both been famed for its world-class produce and great tasting food – a mutual love despite the ongoing debate on some of our countries delicacies including the iconic pavlova.

Now, as an act of unifying in a time when exploring these beautiful lands and connecting physically seems like a distant memory, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise has unveiled a free, downloadable recipe book connecting our passion to great tasting food once more.

A cookbook meets culinary conversation, Taste Buds was built thanks to Kiwi hatted chef Analiese Gregory joining the likes of Automata’s (Chippendale, Sydney) head chef and co-owner Clayton Wells. Designed to highlight, unite and explode unique flavours from both sides of the ditch; this cookbook is all of this and so much more.

Inviting Australians to discover a taste of New Zealand by matching its world-class ingredients with beloved Australian flavours, this cookbook will see a collection of 10 easy-to-follow recipes collaborated showcasing how much better we are together.

“New Zealand producers have a special connection to the land and sea. It’s a relationship that has been founded on care and respect, and something which is reflected in the quality our food and beverage products.

“Taste Buds captures this essence, pairing world-class New Zealand delicacies with beloved Australian flavours – bringing together our two great nations at a time we’ve never felt so apart,” says Glen Murphy, regional director, Australia Pacific, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.

The 10 featured recipes include the likes of a Cloudy Bay Diamond Shell Clams with pepperberry and finger line dressing, Central Otago Lamb Ribs with a davidson plum glaze and horopito, Caramelised Kiwifruit and Desert Line with Waikato aged gouda and rye lavosh, and the famed Manuka and Ginger Cake with macadamia sorbet to name a few.

Sharing a passion for outstanding, great-tasting and nutritious food, the Kiwi Aussie chef duo has combined their years of experience to introduce to foodies an amalgamation of each country’s national flavours.

Clayton Wells, says “The connection New Zealand producers have with the natural world results in some of the freshest, tastiest food and beverages the world has to offer – something I’ve always leant towards in my restaurant. Taste Buds is a distinctive culinary experience of quintessential Kiwi ingredients with a modern Aussie twist.”
