Transform raw materials through technology and mechanics at MONA’s latest exhibition. From the mind of Italian sculptor Arcangelo Sassolino, in the end, the beginning focuses on harness extreme forces like tension, speed, heat, and gravity to reveal the inner life of materials, including incredible demonstrations such as the hydraulic piston breaking wooden beams, a suspended glass sheet under immense pressure, and molten steel showering down from the ceiling. Sassolino’s art metaphorically reflects life’s impermanence and the potential for renewal through destruction.
