Sydney’s Marvelous March Events
Summer is officially over.
But before you curl up into a ball and lock yourself in your toasty humble abode hiding from the disgusting cold weather outside, don’t forget to check out these marvelous events Sydney will be hosting this March.
There’s something for everyone, so get marching!
Weave Festival, a month long exhibit at the Australian Museum allows visitors to embrace themselves in a series of exhibitions, talks, workshops, activities and art that circle and shape Aboriginal and Pacific cultures.
March will have Sydney transformed into an abundance of art on every corner of some of the cities most iconic galleries and creative spaces. Celebrating its ninth annual festival, the all ages exhibit will have something for everyone through a range of events and activities. Check out the website for more information.
Sydney Design Festival
The nine day event hosted at the Powerhouse Museum will be an engaging festival for attendees to embrace themselves in a a range of presentations, exhibitions, discussions, tours and workshops. This year the theme circles around “Call to Action” for designs to have a purpose, movement and forward thinking perspective. Full schedule on website.
Mardi Gras Parade
Celebrating its 40th year of the most infamous, colourful and passion driven parades in Sydney; the Mardi Gras Parade – a definite must not miss on the list. With over 200 groups on extravagant floats expect glitter and a wide range of performers. The night celebrates the LGBTQI community. “A festival of love that knows no bounds.”
International Women’s Day
Celebrating International Women’s Day, Eastside Kitchen & Bar will be hosting the one night event filled with mouthwatering food and accompanied wines. Commemorating the movement for women’s rights, guests will be blessed with canapés on arrival, four courses of dinner with paired wines – all sourced from women. $55 of each ticket will be donated to Pink Hope.
Every Thursday of March Frenchies Bistro and Brewery will be hosting a bottomless beer event. But it can be described more of an extravagant feast. With a three-course dinner accompanied by a matching beer. So grab a friend, partner or even yourself – just think of all of that beer that’s brewed onsite!
Ferris Wheel Dining
Take your love with that special someone to new heights – literally. Luna Park and The Deck Sydney will be hosting it’s Ferris Wheel Dining event through March. From ceviche of scallop and tuna, to lamb shoulder and salted caramel gateaux; there’s no doubt that you’ll be racing to go back. Best views every spin guaranteed!
Carriageworks Farmers Market
Carriageworks throughout the month of March will be hosting its own farmers market each Saturday. Serving a wide range of fresh produce from across New South Wales; there’s no doubt that you’ll walk away with a few bags full of seasonal produce. Keep an eye out for the free cooking demonstrations from some of Australia’s best chefs.
Brunch at Beresford Sunday
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Sydney Mardi Gras Parade, Merivale is hosting its “We Are Colourful” event at The Beresford Surry Hills. The event allows guests to choose from a bellini or bloody mary to start, a meal from their specialized brunch menu and an espresso martini to finish up. This is where you’ll find me every Sunday!
