The paw-fect family-friendly activity – for all dogs big and small!

If you’re stuck on things to do this October long weekend, then you and your pooch will have a tail wagging good time thanks to The Rocks’ newest dog-friendly instalment, Pooches Playground.

Starting this Saturday 03 and running until Monday 05 October, each day Tallawoladah Lawn outside the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia will be transformed into a doggy-style harbourside event.

Paw-fect for the whole family, The Rocks’ Pooches Playground will ensure a full day of dog-friendly frivolity for you and your best friend. Expecting everything from dog massages, market stalls and more, regardless if they’re a golden retriever, a rottweiler, beagle, pug or even a pomeranian, this is one Sydney-based dog festival you won’t want to miss out on.

To help start off the morning for a dose of some wellness, get ready to practice your downward dog with DOGA (yoga for dogs). Hosted by Jaqueline from Hot Dog Yoga, available on Saturday 03 and Monday 05 October at 11am, you and your pooch will be able to connect through a series of stretches, breathing exercises and massages. Fun, interactive and suitable for all age groups and breeds of dogs, all you need is your dog, yoga mat, leash, some treats and doggy bags.

As well as that, from midday until 2pm on Saturday 03 and Sunday 04 October, Pooches Playground will be joined by celebrity vet, radio and tv show host, Dr Katrina Warren and her team of border collies, The Wonderdogs, for training demonstrations and Q&A as well as a trick show for some extra laughs.

Next, for an afternoon snack, stop by Sassy Treats for some organic dog food, treats and chews including crocodile tails as well as bespoke doggy cakes and more. Plus, they even cater for cats and horses! Or for an all-rounder sweet treat, The Secret Ingredient Bakery has got both humans and furry friends covered with their custom pup and human cupcakes. Made fresh to order, guests select their icings and topping and then watch it all get prepared before digging in.

To capture all the tail wagging good memories from The Rocks’ Pooches Playground, from Saturday 03 – Monday 05 October, Sydney Pawtraits will be setting up shop with a pop-up stall so you can take home a hand-drawn portrait of you and your pooch.

For some take-home goodies, UWDOG will take centre stage with their premium, Australian made, soap- and paraben-free dog conditioners and shampoos. Or for the best of everything, St Barx will have a range of vegan grain-free treats, customised dog clothing, handcrafted organic bathing soaps, designed dog cushions and more. Whilst you’re here, be sure to stop by the Porters 4 Pets stall where you can pick your way through a range of personalised bowls, embroidered collars and bespoke accessories.
