Perth’s Top 12 April Events
There’s no doubt that Perth is the perfect place to be this April. With a wide range of events to fill up your calendar as well as your stomach’s – you’ll be racing around to attend them all.
From one of Italy’s most infamous private art collections heading to The Art Gallery of Western Australia, a range of markets, a Beef and Beer Masterclass at The Old Brewery and even a two day BACON FESTIVAL (yes you heard right).
So if you don’t live in Perth, I’d suggest you book out a month long holiday to the West ASAP.
The Corsini Collection Exhibition
Can’t afford that ticket to Florence this year? Don’t fret as Italy will be coming to Perth! The private art collection from one of Florence’s most world known art families will be making its way to The Art Gallery of Western Australia. Enjoy paintings from Botticelli, Tintoretto, Caravaggio and Pontormo. This will be the first time it will be travelling to Australia – get in pronto!
Apperitivo Sessions at Post
Throughout April, Post located in the infamous State Buildings will be blessing Perth residents with Apperitivo Sessions. Come with a work mate, friend or partner because what’s better than a spritz and cured meats? Nothing. At $40 for two, you can enjoy nibblies and either a Pink Americano, Aperol Spritz or Negroni. Amazing!
Native Cocktails at Wildflower
State Buildings surely has taken over April. After finishing up at Apperitivo Sessions head up to Wildflower to enjoy an range of native cocktails on the terrace. Wildflower has created a range of signature cocktails for botanical lovers to enjoy. The menu includes native ingredients, local craft spirits and a selection of native gin and tonics.
Twilight Market at Perth City Farm
For two days only in April, Perth City Farm will be transforming into a twilight market event for the whole family to enjoy. The event will be filled with live music, workshops for children, dogs (on leashes) and of course food and eco-friendly stalls. Keep an eye out for Annies Woodfired Pizza and Melts by Millie!
Perth Home Grown
Every Sunday of April, Murray St Mall will be hosting the free Perth Home Grown event – a sustainable living market for Perthites. Spend the day searching around the mall at the wide range of specialty baked goods, unique handmade gifts, home wares and delicious fresh fruit and vegetables.
Youth Week WA
Formerly known as National Youth Week, now Youth Week WA is an annual festival celebrating the young residents who contribute positively to communities within Western Australia. This years theme Illuminate – Djoondal Djoomba will focus on the future of young citizens for a more positive approach especially on mental health. More information and timetable on website.
Beef and Beer Masterclass Series
Running once a month and hosted by The Old Brewery, the Beef and Beer Masterclass Series is a definite must not miss event! The one-day event starts with a tour of the brewery itself, followed by a taste test, then an informative beef appreciation introduction, and lastly a mouthwatering meal accompanied by free-flowing beer. Sign me up!
Fremantle Bacon Festival
You’ve heard of bacon candles and bacon band-aids. But a bacon festival? Yes please! The Esplanade Hotel will be transformed into everything bacon lovers love. With local food stalls, pop up bars, music, activities and you guessed it, bacon.
The Karijini Experience
Since establishing in 2013, The Karijini Experience has allowed the community to come together to celebrate Aboriginal achievement. The event is a celebration of reconciliation, culture and the beautiful country we live in. The Karijini Experience has everything from a degustation, to workshops, high teas and even an astronomy night. Even though it’s 80km north-east from Tom Price, this event still expects a crowd, so book ASAP!
Corymbia Long Lunch
Frasers Kings Park has teamed up with Corymbia wines to create a long lunch event for Perthlings to enjoy. The one-day event is a definite must not miss for those who love a nice glass of red or white. Descendants of wine-making royalty, Peter Forrestal as well as Rob and Gen Mann will be carving their own path in the Swan Valley.
Spanish Film Festival
Starting on April 26 and finishing up mid May, the Spanish Film Festival will be lighting up the screens at Cinema Paradiso to celebrate its 21st birthday. With an opening night fiesta filled with tapas, live entertainment and Torres Wines to name the few, to a handful of screenings and a closing night event to cap the festival off. Bookings essential. Planet Earth II Live in Concert
Touring Australia is the infamous Planet Earth II live in concert. Perth Arena will take ticketholders on a visual journey across the globe. From Madagascar, to Namibia and even the Antarctic Seas – all conducted by Vanessa Scammell, the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and narration by Eric Bana.
