Energies: Multisensory exhibition coming to Perth
Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts is highlighting the energetic works of David Haines and Joyce Hinterding.
Haines and Hinterding’s works will be featured after fifteen years of artistic collaboration using experimental, digital, electronic and traditional media forms. Their collaborative and solo works will be on display at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts from September 2 to October 29. The works are tailored by the artists to encourage us to marvel at the universe’s wonders and reimagine the invisible forces and energies that constantly surround us.
Energies incorporates a range of unseen mediums such as very low frequency radio waves, television signals, paranormal events and satellite transmissions to reveal to audiences aspects of science, the occult and philosophy. Through a variety of media and custom-built devices, Haines and Hinterding engage in a riveting artistic dialogue on science, bringing together interactive cinema, installations, sound, video, sculpture, photography and drawing.
Energies is curated by Anna Davis and is toured by the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia. The exhibition’s opening night will start at 6:30pm on September 1 at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts.
