Forget online dating, how about finding a fabulous travel companion instead?

Let’s face it: dating is a slippery slope to the ol’ ball-and-chain, which doesn’t really help when you’re in the mood to travel. But while travelling alone can be amazing for some, not everyone wants to do it that way. Sometimes it’s better to have a travel companion; whether it be for added safety or even just a pal to share the world with, it makes holidaying just that more enjoyable.

New website GoPal has come to the rescue, helping to connect humans with itchy feet and holiday goals. Launching in December 2018, the website matches like-minded travellers using criteria such as gender, age, interests and destination.

Membership is free and open to everyone, anywhere (and not just singles), and members are encouraged to find and connect with as many companions as they want.

GoPal creator and founder, Bruce Southerden, is adamant GoPal is not a dating site.

“It’s not just about saving money or sidestepping single supplements,” Bruce said. “It’s about tapping into a world of other travellers who also want someone to travel with so that you can feel safe and free to travel anywhere, anytime and anyhow.

“Our mission is to help people realise their dreams, live fuller lives and be healthier and more active.”
