Adelaidians and Sydneysiders can feed those in need this December simply by riding an ofo bike – and it’s free!

OzHarvest, Australia’s leading food rescue organisation, will receive 50 cents from ofo, an international bike share company, for every trip taken between Monday, December 18 to Friday, December 23. That’s one meal donated to an Australian in need for every free trip taken.

OzHarvest collects quality excess food from commercial outlets and delivers it directly to more than 1000 charities supporting people in need across the country. To date, they have delivered over 76 million meals.

“By ofo donating 50 cents a trip made in Australia, we can provide a nourishing meal to help feed people in need this Christmas, while also reducing food waste,” said Henrietta Ardlie, Head of Fundraising at OzHarvest.

“We love the fact that this initiative will also get people out exploring Australia, being active and reducing air pollution too.”

Scott Walker, Head of Strategy at ofo Australia, is proud to be supporting OzHArvest this Christmas.

“We hope this initiative will feed thousands of people in need whilst getting people active, reducing air pollution and food waste… all you need to do is download the app, unlock and go,” Scott said.

The ofo phone app can be downloaded from iTunes and Google Play.
