Australia’s genuine favourite Bavarian restaurants – Munich Brauhaus, The Bavarian and The Bavarian Beerhaüs – are turning the heat on and up for National Chicken Wing Day this Sunday.

Picture a line-up including spicy challenges, red-hot prizes and 10c wings ALL-DAY-LONG.
This Sunday will see all venues host fiery ghost pepper wing challenges, in celebration of the delicious and beautiful, hand held treat. Ghost pepper wings are smothered in a special haus-made (get it?!) sauce, comprising of three different kinds of pepper: cayenne, habanero and the mother of all, the ghost pepper.

The challenge involves competing for a $200 restaurant voucher. Contestants will eat one dangerously hot ghost pepper wing a minute, with the last person left standing crowned the Ghost Pepper Challenge champion. The competition is $20 to enter and kicks off at 3pm in all locations.

For those who find their toothpaste spicy, you can enjoy a feast of chicken wings for 10c a pop. If you’re keen to try the ghost pepper but don’t enjoy scalding your taste buds, try your hand at Wing Roulette ($20), which includes a basket of five saucy diablo wings with a surprise ghost pepper wing in the mix – bloody genius.

After scorching your mouth, diners can cool off with one of the many brews on tap, including imported blends and craft beers – all available via the 1-litre glass stein.

It’s winter and we’re cold, name a better way to warm up. We’ll wait.
