Oyster October at Stokebar
As Oyster Week comes to a close, St Kilda’s Stokebar inside Stokehouse will be hosting their very own oyster festivities throughout the duration of October. Paired perfectly with Stokebar’s rotating champagne menu created by sommelier Gavin Cremming, guests will be able to shuck their way through $2 fresh oysters every day, both sourced from Australia and rotating regions.
R Bar Afternoon Tea
Launching in September, Crown Melbourne’s R Bar Afternoon Tea is the perfect way to finish the week. Starting from $65 per person through to their most indulgent pack priced at $175, guests will be treated to a three-tiered stand full of a combination of house-made savouries and pastries including smoked salmon and crème cheese sandwiches, gnocchi fritti, macaroons, black forest cake and even caviar to name a few. Perfect for the occasion, guests can opt for one of R Bar’s cocktails tea-infused gin cocktails such as chamomile, sencha and earl grey. Bookings essential.
Fatto’s Bottomless Rosé
Our favourite classic Italian dining in Melbourne’s CBD will now be hosting their very own bottomless rosé event in celebration for the transition into the warmer months. Found along the Yarra River with waterfront views, each Sunday Melbournians can enjoy Fatto’s three-course spring feasting menu alongside two hours of bottomless Arfion Pinot Noir or Les Gres rosé. Paired with live music, visitors can expect everything from antipasti to refreshing strawberry sorbet.
Festa Di Famiglia at Lupo
Every Sunday throughout October, Collingwood’s Lupo will be hosting a feast for the families, Festa Di Famiglia. Perfect for couples, friends and of course, families, guests will be able to enjoy a four-course menu designed by Scott Pickett. Filled with a range of rotating antipasti, pastas, mains, sides and desserts all designed to be shared. On top of that, there are weekly changing drink specials from the cellar – bellissimo!
Yagiz’ Second Birthday
Celebrate Yagiz’ birthday with a bang! For one night only, South Yarra’s Yagiz will be hosting their second birthday with a five-course feast for their fans. Curated by head chef Murat Ovaz and longtime friend and mentor, Colin Fassnidge; the menu will see a combination of Yagiz’ favourites thanks to Ovaz’ signature cooking style paired alongside with Fassnidge’s creative techniques. Nikka Japanese Whisky Dinner
From Japan’s west coast to St Kilda’s waterfront venue in Melbourne, guests will now be able to taste their way through the charismatic palate of Nikka Whisky – one of Japan’s finest producers of whisky and spirits. On Wednesday 9 October, teaming up with the original masters of the Japanese whisky, guests to Stokehouse St Kilda will be able to indulge their way through a carefully curated four-course menu paired with Nikka’s range of whisky or classic cocktails – this is one not to miss. Koerner Wine Dinner
Venturing 20 minutes out of Melbourne’s CBD, on Wednesday 9 October guests to Windsor’s Neptune restaurant will see a wine collaboration with Damon and Jono Koerner. Here, Neptune will be presenting guests with their exclusive five-course with matching wines menu thanks to their recent 2019 Young Gun of Wine award. Showcasing the charismatic tastes of the vineyards from Watervale in the Clare Valley, if you’re searching for an event this October that displays freshness, quality Italian meals and transparent winemaking, this is it.
Zhou Zhou Ichiro’s Tasting
For one night only, South Yarra’s Zhou Zhou will be taken over by Japanese blended whisky brand, Ichiro’s. After being greeted with a whisky highball, whisky lovers will be given the opportunity to taste Ichiro’s Malt Blended Whisky valued at over $5000. With paired canapes, the evening will see the tasting of six other whiskies including Ichiro’s Malt & Grain, Ichiro’s Malt Mizunara Wood Reserve and Chichibu Peated 2018 to name a few. Matilda x Olijnyk Sound Delicious
Lovers of music and food, for one night only, South Yarra’s Matilda 159 Domain will be collaborating with Melbourne-based musical composer Alex Olijnyk for a multi-sensory dinner, Sound Delicious. On the night, guests are invited to enjoy a refined eight-course set menu with five matching wines with each dish accompanied by live music written exclusively for the event. Apart from the soft electronic soundscapes, classical solos and modern folk music, diners will be able to taste their way through a deliciously tempting menu.
Pasta lovers, we’ve got the perfect event for you! After Tipico’s successful pappardelle masterclass earlier this year, Tipico will be hosting another masterclass on Saturday 19 October. Over four hours pasta enthusiasts, lovers, eaters and learners are invited to the Windsor based venue to pick up the skills of creating the most perfect, authentic (and delicious) pappardelle. Guided by head chef Daniele Colombo and his team, guests will be treated with a glass of wine, a pasta lunch and their freshly made pappardelle to take home. Bookings essential.
