It’s Doughnut Time for London

Look out, London! It’s time to feast on one of our favourite guilty pleasures and have yourself a Doughnut Time.

Since opening in Brisbane just under two years ago, Doughnut Time has had a meteoric rise to success, with twenty three stores across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne. Now, the doughnut giant is taking its first steps overseas and to celebrate, they’re giving away a trip to London.

Heading to London this September, Doughnut Time’s first non-Australian store will be a splendour. Occupying a massive two-storey space on Shaftesbury Avenue, the store will be nestled between some of the world’s biggest brands in London’s Soho theatre district. While the lower level will remain the delectable doughnut dream we all know and love, the upper level will be home to the Doughnut Time Academy – where customers will be able to craft their very own Doughnut Time doughnut.

The Shaftesbury Avenue store will be followed by stores in Notting Hill and East London by the end of the year, with plans to expand across England in 2018. In addition, Doughnut Time’s beloved Australian food truck, ‘Barbara’, will be getting a British sister. ‘Betty’, a vintage Renault Estafette decked out in full Doughnut Time finery, will be rolling through and bringing joy to people on the streets of London.

To celebrate the opening, Doughnut Time will be releasing a limited edition doughnut. Named after the movie that has captured peoples’ hearts since it first came out, the ‘Love Actually’ doughnut is sure to delight and charm. Its Earl Grey Tea Glaze harkens back to the UK’s favourite drink, while the sweet freeze-dried raspberry pieces and crunchy raspberry filled shortbread biscuits will be sure to sweeten even the dullest of days. The doughnut will be available in all Australian stores from Thursday 31 August.

There are more developments on the way – September will also herald the launch of the Doughnut Time app on both IOS and Android, a handy place to order doughnuts, pay, have them delivered, and earn loyalty points to keep feeding your Doughnut Time love. And to make the app extra sweet, Doughnut Time are giving away two tickets to London to celebrate the opening of their very first London store. Anyone who downloads the app and purchases doughnuts will go into the draw, with very $10 spent acting as the equivalent of one entry.

So make sure to head down to your Doughnut Time store, buy yourself a doughnut, and have a sweet time today.
