February: the shortest month of the year; the month in which we are just getting used to writing ’2020‘ and, as outlined below, the month of eating. 

This February, foodies will be jumping for joy around the country with all the delectable options there are for dining out, laughing over and celebrating food.


Festivale, the three day celebration held in Launceston that serves beer, wine, spirits, cider with live entertainment, is back. Festivale attracts around 28,000 patrons and takes place on the first weekend of February. Under historic elm trees, family and friends can enjoy the best Tasmanian produce, cool-climate wines, beers and entertainment in a historically and culturally significant outdoor location.

Summer Courtyard Dinner Series at Birch Restaurant

Held over three Fridays in summer, Birch restaurant, in the Southern Highlands, is hosting a series of collaborative dinners with local beverage artisans. For the final dinner, held on Friday 07 February, Birch is collaborating with Joadja Distillery for a Whisky Dinner, in which head distiller, Val Jimenez, will share two previously unreleased whiskies from Joadja Distillery plus some other treats.

Tomato Festival Sydney 2020

The Tomato Festival is back for the seventh year in a row in the Royal Botanic Gardens. Not only will there be workshops, cooking masterclasses, stalls, children’s activities and competitions, but, on both days The Longest Tomato Lunch is being hosted. The lunch is a tomato-inspired Italian shared feast that is eaten along a 70-metre long table, with the menu being curated by Luca Ciano.
