Sofitel’s Wine Days is something to wine about

Everything’s coming up French!

Sofitel Hotels & Resorts all over the world are holding a series of events to celebrate the French wine harvesting season, which is typically held between September and October. A combination of wine tastings and French art de vivre, ensconced in the elegance and glamour of Sofitel’s classic style, Sofitel Sydney Wentworth will offer tastings of the best in regional and international wines over the 6-week festival. There’ll be a range of wine partners being showcased throughout the events, including Veuve Clicquot, Agnew Wines, and Robert Oatley.

Chardonnay and Pinot Noir Regional Tastings

Taste Australia’s take on classic French wines by tasting the latest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from expert producers Philip Shaw (NSW), Josef Chromy (Tasmania), and Ad Hoc (WA).

Dates: 21st of September to the 31st of October

Location: Soirée Bar

Time: Daily until late

Price: $25 per person

 

Rosé High Tea

Delight in the luxury of high tea with rosé tasters, paired with savoury and sweet items. After sampling the wines – which include Sparkling Rosé, French Rosé and Australian Rosé – select your favourite to accompany you for the rest of your high tea.

Dates: 23rd to the 24th of September, 30th of September to the 1st of October

Time: 12 – 4pm

Rosé Tasting Event hosted by Import Specialist Sabino Matera

Accompanied by paired canapés, a selection of six different rosé wines (Sparkling Rosé, Australian Rosé, New Zealand Rosé, French Rosé, Spanish Rosé, Italian Rosé), and a host of prizes to win, this is one tasting event you won’t want to miss.

NSW vs France Wine Battle – featuring Rohan Beale of Agnew Wines

Get ready for the most eventful wine tasting of the festival, hosted by Agnew Wines’ head wine maker Rohan Beale – compare wines selected from different regions while enjoying a variety of canapés. The battles will pit NSW Sparkling vs Champagne, NSW Rosé vs French Rosé, NSW Sauvignon Blanc vs Sancerre, and NSW Shiraz vs Cote du Rhone.

De Bortoli’s ‘La Bohème’ Wine Dinner

Join De Bortoli’s chief winemaker, Steve Webber, as you indulge in a 3-course paired menu while tasting the delightful wines of De Bortoli’s latest range of ‘La Bohème’ wines, which include Cuvee Blanc, Act Two Pinot Noir Rosé, Act Three Pinot Gris & Friends, Act Four Syrah Gamay, and De Bortoli Show Liquer Muscat.

Veuve Clicquot Cocktail Event
