It’s that time of year again… Melbourne, the Night Noodle Markets are back!

The much-awaited Night Noodle Markets has returned to Melbourne for its seventh year in a row. For all food lovers, the Night Noodle Market at Birrarung Marr is a spring essential, especially as we are heading into the warmer months. There is something in the air, and it is the smell of delicious food.

Partnered with Citi and Good Food Month, the Night Noodle Markets will be running for 18 nights through November from Thursday 7 to Sunday 24. This year, we went along and did the hard yards of trying and testing the food so we could tell you exactly what you need to taste! Here are our top five picks:

Drumplings

First on our list of delectables is Drumplings’ delicious dumplings. Traditionally made dumplings with a unique and creative twist, Drumplings serve up a range of creations that you absolutely MUST try including Mac and Cheese, Beef Rangdang, Cheeseburger and Pepperoni Pizza to name a fewOr, if you feel like indulging, why not opt for the Truffle Mushroom Dumplings. Missing out on Drumplings will be the biggest mistake of your night, trust us.

Wonderbao

Next on our list are the delicious treats from Wonderbao. Wonderbao combine their traditional homemade bao buns with mouth-watering flavours such as their Gua Bao, Roast Pork Belly Gua Bao, Fried Tofu Gua Bao, Char Siu Bao, Choi Bao, Nai Wong Bao, and our favourite, the delicious Korean Chicken. The combination of home-made steamed bao buns with spicy Korean Chicken had us dying for more!

Hoy Pinoy

If street food entices you as much as the next foodie, then Hoy Pinoy’s Filipino BBQ street food will be the exact thing to satisfy your cravings. Hoy Pinoy serve up grilled pork belly, Inihaw na Baboy, that is cooked perfectly over charcoal and served with steamed rice. For an on-the-go feed, try the Barbequed Chicken Skewers glazed in sawsawan sauce.

Next on our must-try list is Flying Noodles. If the name doesn’t grab your attention, the smell of their delicious dishes are sure to lure you in. We got to try The Big Boss, a dish that combines the delectable mix of diced chicken tenderloin marinated with soybean paste, roasted sesame and sautéed mushrooms.

Gelato Messina

Finally, to cap off your night in foodie heaven, you must end your Night Noodle Markets experience with a delicious trip to Gelato Messina. Renowned for their delicious flavours and creativity, Gelato Messina consistently draws crowds back again and again to sample their delicious treats. Our favourite is the Eye of the Thai-ger, a thai milk tea cheesecake that’s sandwiched between tea sponge, dipped in Italian meringue and sprinkled with desiccated coconut.
