The Bavarian arrives in Charlestown with 500 free hotdog bonanza

The Bavarian will open its doors at Charlestown Square shopping centre, on the outskirts of Newcastle in the Lake Macquarie region, on Wednesday, 13 March 2019 and we’re just a tad excited.

It is Rockpool Dining Group’s 26th Bavarian restaurant, and 14th in NSW, including The Bavarians at Bondi Beach, Castle Hill, Chatswood, Entertainment Quarter, Manly Wharf, Miranda, Rouse Hill, Penrith, Shellharbour, Wetherill Park, World Square, The Bavarian Beerhaus at York Street and Munich Brauhaus in The Rocks.

So, if you’re in the area here are 5 reasons to visit The Bavarian, Charlestown asap.

1. Free Hotdogs.

Yep, that’s right, on opening day (13 March) from 11 am, The Bavarian will be handing out 500 FREE hotdogs to their customers. Reason enough.

2. All the German-influenced food you can eat.

The family-friendly menu offers something for everyone, including traditional Bavarian favourites, such as crispy pork knuckle, crackling pork belly, a range of classic German and gourmet sausages and shared platters. Lighter bites include chicken wings, spicy squid and build-your-own salads from a checklist of fresh ingredients.

3. There’s a Schnitzel Challenge.

A challenge so good, you could win your meal on the house. Schnitzel stardom awaits those who finish The Schnitzelmeister ($80) – a 1kg, six-stack, chicken schnitzel tower topped with Napoli sauce, ham and cheese and served with four sides – in under one hour.

4. They will make you love Wednesdays.

Every Wednesday you can partake in refillable All You Can Meat platters ($35 per person). ALL YOU CAN EAT MEAT!

5. Every day has happy hour.

What a win. Happy Hour runs from 4pm to 6pm every day with $5 beer, wine and spirits and $1 chicken wings.
Oh and there are 17 beers on tap including imported Bavarian favourites Lowenbrau, Franziskaner, Stiegl and Hofbrau. An iconic range of Australian and international craft brews join the line-up of German beers, including 4 Pines and Pirate Life (AUS), Goose Island, Budweiser (USA) and Stella Artois (EUR).

If you need a little more encouragement, how about a range of food deals including a $15 lunch special that combines a schnitzel and beer from Monday to Friday between 11am and 4pm or dinner specials that start at 5pm with a chicken burger and drink of choice ($15) every Monday, a two-for-one deal on regular schnitzels on Tuesdays and on Sunday the focus is on families, with children under the age of 12 eating for free from the kids’ menu with a paying adult.

We’ll see you there.
