Here are February’s top restaurant openings in Sydney in 2019.
The newest laneway eatery has just opened up in the heart of Sydney. Sitting along Clarence Street, Barrack Place is definitely the newest foodie hotspot especially with its contemporary and edgy scene. Whatever your craving is, Barrack Place will definitely have it. With everything from Fishbowl, Cali Press, Batch Espresso, Bar Pho, Mo’st, St Dreux and The Barber and Co Sydney; Barrack Place will also be home to Billy Blargo and 300-seat capacity, Firegrill soon. Keep an eye out for the artwork installations by Amy Joy Watson.
Found buried through the bewitching scenery within The Chinese Garden of Friendship in Darling Harbour is Lotus’ newest project, The Gardens. Officially open from the beginning of the month, the traditional teahouse has been transformed into a haven celebrating Chinese High Tea with a modern twist. Visitors can expect everything from their renowned range of Lotus’ dumplings to wine braised baby abalone hot pot and even crispy thin sliced pork belly all in the serenity of the tranquil gardens of course.
Opening times: Mon – Sun 10:30am to 5pm & Thur – Sat 6 to 9pm
Salt Meats Cheese
The biggest restaurant part of the Salt Meats Cheese Group is the new Dee Why venue, and like their other locations, this one will most certainly be keeping up to the mouthwatering flavours and standards they are renowned for. Located less than a five-minute drive away from Dee Why Beach, upon your visit to Salt Meats Cheese, definitely opt for the Pumpkin Risotto that’s packed with saffron, brown butter, goats cheese and sage. For chocolate lovers, end your experience at Salt Meats Cheese with their Peanut Butter and Nutella Pizza paired with a Tiramisu Martini.

Found sitting beside Tayim Restaurant in Nurses Walk laneway in The Rocks is Tayim Deli. Described simply as a combination of the very bold and flavoursome Middle Eastern flair focusing on a more street food style. Open early mornings to mid-afternoon, Tayim Deli serves everything from muesli to black forest bacon with eggs, cheese and tomato, to salads and their loaded sandwiches that will definitely fulfill lunchtime cravings.
Opening times: Mon – Fri 7am to 2:30pm & Sat 9am to 2pm
4 Pines Beer & Burger
Officially opening after their transformation on Tuesday 19 February, 4 Pines in Manly will be a haven for burger and beer lovers in Sydney. Conveniently located underneath their BrewPub, the Manly venue will offer an extended version of the Surry Hills burger venue. Serving on tap and bottled beers, the 4 Pines Manly location will also have wine, spirits and cocktails available. Guests can expect their renowned burgers such as The Cheese, The Chook, The Pig, The Double and even The Sunday Roast burger.
Opening times: Tues – Fri 5pm till late & Sat and Sun 12pm till late
