No, it’s not Mexican Independence Day, but it is the next best thing.

Cinco de Mayo is the annual celebration of the Mexican army’s victory over the French forces in 1862.
We may not be Mexican but we sure love our tequila and tacos… So we figure, why not celebrate?

El Camino Cantina and Bar Patrón by Rockpool are planning to commemorate Cinco de Mayo with a tequila-flavoured line-up of menu specials, $7.50 Margaritas all day, every day, $1000 worth of prize giveaways and a final fiesta to knock your sombreros off.

El Camino Cantina is celebrating Cinco de Mayo with $7.50 Margaritas all week and incredible daily menu specials. The countdown begins on Uno de Mayo, or Tuesday, 1 May, with a selection of $2 tacos also available all day (Ah, yes). On Wednesday, Dos de Mayo, chicas and chicos can delight in 10 cent wings with any purchase of a 24 oz Margarita or chalice of house beer – easy.
On Thursday, $5 guacamole is on offer all day, so diners can put the restaurant’s refillable baskets of chips to deliciously good use. Mexcellent. On Friday bring the working week to a close with an all-you-can-eat taco menu that includes a choice of appetisers, unlimited tacos, and churros with salted caramel dip for dessert ($52 pp). OMS (oh my stomach).
Get ready for the biggest fiesta of the year, Cinco de Mayo, on Saturday, 5 May. Guests can expect piñatas, Mexo-decor and a photo booth to capture the memories you may or may not have forgotten by Sunday morning…
