Bright coloured foods are proven to boost happiness, crunchy foods are associated with feeling relaxed and nutrient-rich foods help us remain focused.

Youssef also highlights the positive benefits of carbohydrates such as pasta, as a way to incorporate serotonin-producing foods into your diet and well, we can’t argue with an expert.

So when choosing your next meal on UberEats be sure to consider your palate – both taste and colour – to ensure a healthy pick me up!

It’s the colour of sunshine, warmth and according to Coldplay, it’s even the colour of love.

Warm colours such as reds, oranges and yellows, are scientifically proven to evoke feelings of happiness and optimism and this is no exception when it comes to food and ingredients. Youssef reveals sweet potatoes and  bananas  are great energy and happiness boosters because of their vibrant colour and richness in antioxidants and vitamins. They are beneficial for the production of serotonin which is known to be a key influencer in increasing happiness! Red meat is also listed as a happiness food because it provides a number of essential nutrients, including protein, zinc and vitamin B12. Carbohydrates are also an important part of our diet and can enhance our wellbeing. A treat to the local pizzeria or pasta bar has proven to makes us feel happier.  

And of course, chocolate! This sweet treat is an excellent source of  antioxidants and proven to increase happiness levels – the one thing experts don’t have to tell us.
