“Colleagues yes, but friends above all, we have long shared a delight in fine spirits”

The quote in the About section of The Last Drop Distiller’s website; it seems fitting for a company that strives to curate, collect and find their customers the very best & oldest spirits in the world to share with their loved ones. The Last Drop Distillers are on a mission to source the most selective and unique spirits and make them available to the public.

Not only do they have a wonderful and curiosity-inducing product, but also a powerful team behind them – which is what makes The Last Drop Distillers what they are today.

Founded by some of the forefathers of the current climate of the spirit industry, the impressive team include:

Tom Jago

Tom Jago was a major player in developing the idea for the world-renowned spirit, Baileys Irish Cream, a revolutionary spirit in Britain and across the globe, as well as Johnnie Walker Blue Label. Tom tragically passed away, aged 93 late in 2018. Tom was beloved by all and sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

Peter Fleck

Peter Fleck has spent a lifetime in the drinks industry and was responsible for the growth of Smirnoff Vodka and Chivas Regal in the South Africa region. He is currently serving as the Last Drop’s Director, and interestingly the world-famous spirit brand Malibu was created by all three founders.

James Espey

James Espey has been a director of major international whisky companies for almost 50 years and was instrumental in the creation and development of some of the world’s most popular Scotch Whiskies, including Chivas Regal. James has an OBE for his services to Scotch Whisky.

The trio, between them, have in the past created some of the world’s most famous spirits and have now created one last brand, and something a little different.

The mission for The Last Drop Distillers is simple;

To find and bottle, for the delectation of friends and connoisseurs alike, the world’s finest, rarest and most exclusive spirit’s.

Simple in essence yes, but in practice, no. Some of these spirits that are available in The Last Drop range are near impossible to find, with only a small amount available. Which makes them all the more special and worthwhile to be able to experience.

Since 2008, The Last Drop Distillers have been packaging some of the world’s oldest and finest spirits in a way that the focus is on the spirit.

It goes without saying that the spirits sold by the company are exceptionally delicious, and an experience for the tastebuds that cannot be replicated ever again. Some of the oldest spirits in their range are the:

  • 1925 Grande Champagne Cognac
  • 1961 Dumbarton Single Grain Scotch Whisky

The Last Drop recently came to Sydney to announce the release of three new spirits, and they are an exciting bunch.

The first of the trio is a Glenrothes Single Malt Scotch Whiskey, the second a 1971 Vintage Blended Scotch Whiskey and the last a Centenario Tawny Port Duo. If you have the desire to taste and experience some of the finest spirits on the planet, make sure to head straight for The Last Drop collection.
