As the season of celebration is fast approaching, November is teasing Australians with some eclectic events to eat and drink your way through. So without further ado, here’s 11 (very fitting) top foodie events around Australia to enjoy this November.

Wine Island

Sydney wine lovers are you needing an island escape? Come the first weekend of November we’ll have just the thing – Wine Island – an island you actually want to be stranded on. To celebrate their fifth birthday, over the three days Clark Island will be transformed into a wine extravaganza with over 25 wine huts to indulge in from wineries across Australia, New Zealand, France and even Italy. In between sips, Chur, N2 Gelato and Seafood Hut will be there to help you replenish or you can opt to visit the Napoleon Perdis Beauty Bar. Tickets include transport to Clark Island, a welcome cocktail, a Wine Island tumbler, five wine tastings and a wine selectors masterclass.

WILDfest Highland Valley Forage

For one day only, Sydneysiders are invited to Kangaroo Valley for a degustation experience like no other. Just over two hours south of Sydney’s CBD, explorers can set out on a full-day experience through Kangaroo Valley and its surrounds. Wander through the national park through either a four or nine-and-a-half kilometre walking trail. From there, accompanied by acoustic music, paired wines and the most breathtaking scenery of the region, foodies are also sustained with an eight or 10 course degustation menu designed by Mark Olive, Nick Gardner and the team behind Southern Highlands Birch.

Tuna Cutting Show and Auction

If you’re swimming to learn how to cut tuna, we’ve heard your calling. The team behind DOPA Don and Milk Bar is now offering Sydneysiders the opportunity to experience their first-ever tuna cutting show and auction. Led by tuna master, Narito Ishii, watch as he’ll slice a full-sized Australian bluefin tuna in front of you. Next, he’ll entertain you with facts and sustainable tips about tuna which is followed by an auction of the 30kg fish. After the show and auction, you’ll be invited for a sit down three-course menu carefully created by Dopa’s executive chef Zachary Tan and Toshi Oe (Masuya).

Sunday Sessions

Every Sunday throughout spring and summer, The William Inglis Hotel in Warrick Farm will be hosting the perfect event to cap the week off. Sunday Sessions allow visitors to indulge in everything this five-star luxury boutique has to offer. Night Noodle Markets

Melbourne, to celebrate the awakening of Good Food Month Melbourne, Night Noodle Markets have returned to Birrarung Marr for another year of sizzling menus over 18 days. Also described as a bustling Asian street food festival, Melbourne’s Night Noodle Markets serve up a range of savoury, sweet and spicy treats from a range of stalls including Mr. Miyagi, Flying Noodles, Bao Brothers, Calabang, Drumplings, Fry’d Ice Cream, Gelato Messina, Okonomiyaking, Potto, Puffle, The Pham Sisters, WAA WAA Japanese Eatery and Wonderbao to name a few. Unico Zelo x Hartsyard

Sydneysiders, on Thursday 7 November you’ll have the opportunity to taste the south-west thanks to South Australian winemakers Unico Zelo. Hosted by Unico Zelo winemaker Brendan Carter, on the night Brendan will be showcasing the best new vintages in a takeover of Newtown’s casual modern Australian restaurant, Hartsyard. Here visitors will be able to enjoy a tasting of a variety of wines plus three standard glasses of their choice. To end the evening, guests will be able to choose a meal of choice from Hartsyard’s a la carte menu and they’ll also walk away with a discount code to continue their Unico Zelo experience at home.

Ginger Beer Class

Sydneysiders have you ever wondered how ginger beer is made? Well, head to Camperdown Commons on Friday 8 November to partake in an interactive 90-minute masterclass at Acre Eatery – one of Sydney’s most renowned farm-to-table restaurants to find out. Here visitors will be able to learn about the art of fermentation and mixology with Acre’s bar manager. From there, ginger beer enthusiasts will be able to create, shake and taste their very own ginger beer cocktails which are accompanied by share snacks. This is one not to miss. Bookings essential.

Sydneysiders, get ready to splash some colour on your Sunday brunch thanks to The Butler and illustrator of The Lust List, Sally Spratt. For one day only on Sunday 17 November Potts Point restaurant, The Butler will be hosting an interactive workshop led by Sally. Here, guests can indulge in an Ibero-American brunch grazing station with two hours of bottomless Lillet spritz cocktails. But it doesn’t stop there. During your bites and sips, brunch enthusiasts will have the opportunity to meet and greet Sally and create your own masterpiece to take home. You never know, you might be the next Picasso – or at least pretend to be.

East Malvern Food + Wine Festival 2019

Returning for its fourth year, Melbournians get ready to enjoy in one the city’s most renowned one-day-only events, the East Malvern Food + Wine Festival 2019. Setting up in Central Park, for over six hours visitors can explore wines from 20 wineries from some of Victoria’s notable wine regions including Bendigo, Yarra Valley and Sutton Range to name a few. I Maccheroni Sardinian Wine Dinner

Woollahra based Italian boutique restaurant, I Maccheroni, will be collaborating with Sicilian wine producers Cantina Giba, 6 Mura, for a not-to-miss one night only event this November. Come Tuesday 19, guests will be able to devour their way through a seven-course tasting menu inspired by the Italian cuisine. Each course will be paired with a wine from the Sardinian based vineyard, 6 Mura. The menu of both food and wine both represent the flavours, smells and feel of the Mediterranean. Gin Palooza

Haven’t you heard? Gin is in. Over four days from Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 November, Gin Palooza will be returning to Sydney’s Paddington Town Hall for a festival focusing on the infusions, brews and tantalizing tastes of the gin world. Here visitors will be spoilt for choice with 39 of Australia’s and New Zealand’s leading craft gin distillers offering a range of world-class masterclasses, bottomless tastings meeting the makers sessions and even a gourmet tapas banquet to enjoy. Over the weekend’s festivities expect to Ambleside Distillers, The West Winds Gin, Distillery Botanica, Small Batch Distilling, Southern Wild Distillery and Hemp Gin Group to name a few.
