If you thought that the festive season in December was far too filling as it is, well, you’re in for a tasty treat as we’ve got eight of December’s most delicious food and drink events around Australia.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without an event like this. For 16 days only, one of Australia’s most renowned degustation restaurants will be spreading the Christmas joy thanks to their newest menu: The Story of Christmas. Created by mastermind chef, Nelly Robinson, nel. based in Sydney will be serving up an 11-course Christmas-inspired menu just in time for the festive season. nel.’s take on the holiday will see dishes such as pigs in a blanket, chestnuts on an open fire, Christmas wreath, chimney smoke and even home alone brought to life. Plus, visitors will also be able to indulge in a range of Christmas cocktails including the pavlova, sugar plum fairy, mrs clauses’ kiss, beach booze and a gingerbread espresso martini.
Veuve up your Saturdays
Tucked along Outram Street in Perth’s CBD, locals and visitors alike will be able to indulge in all of the summer essentials thanks to Mayfair Lane’s Veuve up your Saturdays event. For one day only this December, Mayfair Lane Pub & Dining Room will be hosting the ultimate summer loving event praising the finest locally sourced seafood, sunshine and bubbles. For two hours visitors can indulge in a Western Australian charred seafood platter featuring scallops, clams, baby squid, half a dozen oysters and a pint of prawns all accompanied by free-flowing Veuve Clicquot and Veuve Rosé.
Mimosa Rock Oyster Masterclass
Oysters and sparkling wine – name a better duo. Sydneysiders come Saturday 7 December, I Maccheroni Woollahra will be hosting a masterclass showing the best in just that. Partnering with Australia’s top oyster producer, Mimosa Rock Oysters, I Maccheroni will be providing guests with an interactive oyster shuck and tasting. Here Sydneysiders will be able to participate in the hands-on workshop tasting a range of fresh and cooked oysters that are then served with bottomless sparkling and mimosas. Plus, all guests will be entered into I Maccheroni’s draw to win a dining voucher, three dozen oysters or a pair of shuckers.
Veuve Clicquot Beachside Yoga and Brunch
Melbournians, are you ready for the newest brunch party to hit the shores of St Kilda this summer? Hosted by Pontoon and their Veuve Clicquot Summer House, for two hours on Sunday 8 December guests will be able to enjoy a relaxing yoga and brunch session. Led by Yoke Yoga studio manager Ashleigh Dickson, guests will hit the beach for an hour-long yoga session. From there, head upstairs to Pontoon’s deck for a two-course brunch which includes free-flowing Veuve Clicquot. Feast on mixed fruit and honey granola, vanilla bean yoghurt, seasonal organic fruit and mini pizzas. Feast through your Sunday and feel good!
Lovers of whisky can finally unite at Halford Bar Perth for an event you will not want to miss out on. For one night only on Wednesday 11 December, over two hours guests will be able to taste their way through one of the biggest names within the whisky industry, The Macallan. Here, guests will venture through Editions 2, 3, 4 and their newest instalment, Edition 5. All highly collectable and enjoyable for any whisky lover, the event will also allow guests to purchase items from The Macallan range at a discounted price.
Birch x Tamburlaine Winemaker Series
To introduce the blissful season, Moss Vale’s Birch will be hosting as part of their Winemaker Series a long lazy lunch in collaboration with New South Wales’ organic winery, Tamburlaine. For one day only Southern Highlands’ Birch will be embracing guests with a share four-course lunch menu that’s paired with Tamburlaine’s wines. With over nine dishes available including orange cured trout, pork belly, sesame and fennel crusted black angus, barramundi with tomato stuffing, roast lamb rump, white chocolate and nectarine melba and black cherry nemesis to name a few. For food and wine lovers alike, this relaxed and intimate event is one not to miss.
Perth, are you ready for the pop-up of the season? We present you with The Dock – anchoring back at Fremantle’s Victoria Quay wharf for another year of summer festivities. For 20 days, Perthlings can indulge in over 16 draught taps and 12 house wines to name a few. Not fret if the stomach is yearning for a bite as the delicious team behind Eat No Evil will be setting up inside the pop-up bar serving up everything from ceviche platters, wings and tacos. Plus, to shake up the season The Westwinds Gin, Sailor Jerry and Finlandia Vodka will be serving a range of Perth’s favourite cocktails. The Taste of Tasmania
To cap off 2019 and to start the new off to a tasty treat, Hobart will be hosting Australia’s biggest and longest-running food and wine festival, The Taste of Tasmania. Over seven days, Princes Wharf will be transformed into a foodie extravaganza with live music, local gourmet offerings and awe-inspiring performances that are all accompanied by incredible waterfront views. Celebrating Tasmania and it’s produce and producers, guests can expect to see Absinthe Friends, Big Bessie, Formosa Bites, Old Kempton Distillery and The Porky Duck to name a few.
