All of Melbourne’s Best Rooftop Bars

outdoor seating area at imperial hotel in melbourne

Rise above the rest and escape to the rooftops of Melbourne to embrace the summer sun or the shining moonlight.

More rooftop bars have popped up in Melbourne in the past six months than in the last six years, which is great news because it expands our list beyond the same rotation of five bars we’ve already frequented too often. And let’s be honest, drinks just taste better at a high altitude. Once you’ve braved the stair climb (unless you’re lucky enough to find yourself a lift), embrace the cool breeze and a chilled beverage for the ultimate summer refreshment. Regardless of whether you’re after drinks, food or a good view, these rooftops are well worth the climb.

The Rooftop at QT

The most exciting part of the QT Melbourne development is the new indoor-outdoor split rooftop bar It’s a sleek and elegant alternative to Melbourne’s rooftop bar scene which has a reputation for old milk crates, astro-turf and empty kegs.

Goldilocks Bar

The drinks list is limited to six rotating cocktails but don’t let that put you off. And don’t let the fact that it sits above a Noodle Kingom put you off either. The dining is casual with chef Katie Marron (ex-Eua De Vie and MoVida) designing the menu around the nursery rhyme classic The Three Little Pigs.
