A Two-Day Chocolate Festival is coming to Sydney

Smooth Festival of Chocolate returning to Sydney in August

Start saving up your cheat days, because the Smooth Festival of Chocolate is coming back to Sydney this August for it’s fourth consecutive year.

The two-day festival will run across 12-13 August and will see some of Australia’s most talented pastry chefs, chocolatiers and ice creameries all showcase their signature chocolates and desserts down at The Rocks. The event will also feature live demonstrations, unique chocolate sculptures and treats created exclusively for the festival.

Last year, the festival attracted over 120,000 people, and NOVA Entertainment Sydney General Manager Luke Minto says the 2017 event will be “even bigger and better.”

“We are delighted to have long term partners Lindt, Callebaut and Knebel Kitchens return, joining some exciting new partners in Piazza D’oro, Mr Black, Endeavour Beer and Baci Perugina,” says Minto.

The festival is certainly stacking up to be a massive one with plenty of pop-ups to indulge in. Major sponsors Lindt and Sprugli will once again be presenting The Lindt Lounge, featuring Australian Master Chocolatier Thomas Schnetzler. The Mr. Black Crowd Brew Coffee Liqueur Martini Bar will be a crowd pleaser with ‘Espresso Jar-tinis’ topped with Nutie donuts, and Endeavour Beer will be brewing a chocolate ale especially for the festival.

Also returning for the fourth year, Callebaut and Knebel Kitchens will present the Callebaut Test Kitchen, featuring live demonstrations from the country’s best dessert chefs including Australia’s Queen of Chocolate Kirsten Tibballs, the highly lauded Jean Michel Raynaud of La Renaissance Patisserie, The Rocks and Daria Nechiporenko, the Australian representative for the World Chocolate Masters 2018.

As well as these exciting events, the Smooth Festival of Chocolate in the Rocks will feature over 100 exhibitors including Gelato Messina, Black Star Pastry, The Original Chocowrap and Rocco’s Dessert Jars, who will all be dishing out some of their most delicious chocolate treats for the entire weekend.
