Muriel’s Wedding the Musical
The infamous line, “you’re terrible Muriel” can now be heard live and in person. Muriel’s Wedding has been transformed into a musical and is coming to Sydney! Melbourne born actress Maggie McKenna will be playing the much mixed emotion role of Muriel Heslop. Directed by PJ Hogan, the Australian story will surely be a blast.
Held on the luscious Camperdown Memorial Rest Park in Newtown, the Newtown Festival is back. With live music, markets, food stalls and dogs – what more do you need? The day event attracts over 90,000 visitors throughout the day, so get planning!
Japanese Film Festival
Event Cinemas George Street will be transforming into a 10 day, Japanese Film Festival event. There will be everything from comedies to dark dramas and action movies. Guests will be delighted by the range of new releases and classics that will be premiering.

Hidden in the streets of Marrickville at the Sydney Portugal Club is the one-day event, the Sydney Vegan Market. With a range of food stalls you’ll be racing to like Soul Burger and Suzy Spoon ‘s Vegetarian Butcher, guests will also be able to purchase an extensive range of home wares and fashion that supports veganism and most important cruelty free living.
