The Bavarian, Munich Brauhaus and The Bavarian Beerhaüs are firing up game nights for the 2018 State of Origin series. Enjoy the clash on the big screen this Wednesday June 6 – live and loud – while feasting on 10¢ chicken wings and footy feasts to fuel the fanatics. Then continue to enjoy the following matches on Sunday June 24 and Wednesday July 11.
Origin and beer enthusiasts can enjoy a stellar line-up of traditional Bavarian and local craft beers on tap from a number of vessels including the Bavarian restaurants’ legendary steins, 1-litre glass boots and 2-litre beer towers.
Along with the much-needed beer, revellers can snack on tasty chicken wings for just 10¢ each, while groups of four can indulge in the Epic Sports Feast for only $140. This impressive, meat-filled platter includes two giant pretzels, mac and cheese balls, a full rack of succulent ribs, a whole roast chicken, half a kilo of BBQ chicken wings, pepper and garlic Kielbasa sausages, two cheese Kranskies, as well as fries, mashed potato and a 2-litre beer tower.
For guests seeking a more intimate affair, feast on one of the restaurants five limited-edition Loaded Schnitzels ($29), each of which has been generously smothered, covered and loaded with toppings and sauces, in ode to a country that they’re named after. The Canadian, Mexican, American, Hawaiian and Aussie Shnittie can also be paired with a 1-litre boot of beer for just $51.
True footy fans are being given the chance to become an Official Footy Legend. To attain this prestigious title, a series of footy-inspired challenges must be completed before Saturday, 29 September. The challenges are:
- Drink five 1-litre boots of bier (NSW and VIC)
- Eat five classic chicken schnitzel meals
- Watch five NRL or AFL matches at one of the Bavarian or Beerhaüs venues.
These must be officially stamped as a mark of accomplishment in a Footy Legend Booklet (pick one up at any venue across Melbourne, NSW or Queensland) with prizes to be won.
If you can’t do this Wednesday, and you just cannot wait til the next game to sample any of these German outlets, then feel compensated with daily dinner specials throughout the week, including All You Can Eat Meat Platter ($39 per person) on Mondays and the $20 Schnitz Blitz on Tuesday, which packages up any schnitzel and a 300ml beer.
