Australia’s International Beer Day Events

Cheers! Chookas! Salut! Santé! Prost! Skål! Vifijo! Ahoya!

It all means the same thing no matter how we say it!

International Beer Day (IBD) will grace the world once again today, Friday, August 3. To help you celebrate, we’ve curated a list of special events that are happening in capital cities across this great southern land. So round up a posse and follow us!

Sydney

Fratelli Fresh, Darling Harbour

It’s a classy lunch spot opposite the Chinese Garden of Friendship, with simple and effective interior decor and quirky staff. For IBD they bring you the Goose Island Beer Paddle, a brew that comes from Chicago, Illinois. The $30 paddle includes Goose Island IPA, Midway Session, Belgian-style Halia and English-style bitter Honkers ale. And as a complimentary extra, you can choose between Fratelli Fresh’s Margerita or Diavolo pizza.

Local Motive

While there’s plenty of pubs to head to for IBD in Hobart city – Irish Murphys along Salamanca Place has happy hour between 4pm and 6pm! – we think it’ll be a little more adventurous to head somewhere special. In the town of Margate is a train carriage that now acts as a bar, and they just opened at the end of last month. Local Motive sell local beers, wines and ciders, and they love it when customers people bring their dogs!
